Online Patient Registration now available

We are using a new online service called Register with a GP surgery that makes it easy to register with this GP surgery.

Just fill in this quick online form to start the process. You do not need proof of address or immigration status, ID or an NHS number.

The service is designed and run by the NHS, so your personal information is safe. It cuts our administrative workload and makes it easier for you to register.

Paper forms are still available if you prefer, please visit our Patient Registration page.

Patient Group minutes and new members welcome

New members are very welcome to join our Patient Group.  Whatever your age or experience your views on the practice from a patient perspective are valuable to us.  The group meets regularly (usually quarterly) for an hour or so on Friday mornings.  If interested, please see our Patient Participation Group page and contact us.

Green Bag Scheme for hospital admissions

The Somerset Green Bag Scheme has been relaunched.  This is to help patients who may be admitted to hospital to take all their medications in one clearly identifiable bag which can then travel with you while in hospital, and helps the medical team to know what medications you are taking during admission.

For more details please visit our Green Bag Scheme page.

Patients can self-refer to the app, and use this either instead of or as well as an appointment at the practice.

Living with pain is a pain but there is hope…

Do you live with a long-term persistent pain condition? Does it affect your sleep, and emotional wellbeing? Does it restrict your daily activities and stop you doing the things you want to do?

The Rural Practice Network (a group of 5 local GP surgeries covering Castle Cary, Bruton, Wincanton, Queen Camel & Milborne Port), is developing a new, non-medical pain management programme called Live Well with Pain – the Ten Footsteps – which is available to people registered with any of these 5 surgeries, with two new opportunities for people in Bruton!

  • There’s a new monthly online Live Well with Pain café on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7pm on Microsoft Teams, the next one is 20th
  • A brand new monthly in-person Live Well with Pain café is starting on Wednesday 6 September at the Eastfield communal lounge, Bruton. BA10 0HT from 11.30-12.30pm. Drop in for a cuppa and a chat with others in the same situation!

For more information, please email sue.crisfield1@nhs.net or call 07749418850 or send a message through the Rural Practice Network Facebook page.
